Google Extended Partnership with VMware for Hybrid Cloud Reach

Google Extended Partnership with VMware for Hybrid Cloud Reach

At the end of July 2019, Google announced to continue a partnership with VMware, which will benefit enterprises to run their VMware workloads on Google Clouds.

Both the companies announced a collaboration that will deploy and run the company's system on hybrid clouds. CloudSimple is one who developed this solution, not VMware or Google developed it. But Google will be responsible for giving first-line support working together with CloudSimple.

Ray Wang, a principal analyst at Constellation Research, said that "Hybrid clouds are key, with only 17-19% of workloads in the cloud."

Google approached to all the enterprises to move to containers and use its Anthos hybrid cloud service, as most large companies yet use VMware.

Enterprises are ready to move their workloads to the public cloud, but with that, they do not intend to give up the tool that has worked long for them. Therefore, Google & VMware partnership for hybrid cloud reach.

However, Google has nothing especially new or innovative, but that is not about, instead of Google Cloud VMware Solution will help customers to get better support.

Customers were willing to get broad support for VMware, and it is now possible. Google Cloud VMware Solution by CloudSimple, allows customers to run VMware vSphere-based workloads on GCP.

Chief operating officer and customer operations at VMware, Sanjay Poonen said that" Our partnership with Google is to address the customers' needs and willing to extend the collaboration, so that our mutual customers can run VMware workloads on VMware Cloud Foundation on Google Cloud Platform."

The new solution will bring customers a wide range of choices like running their VMware workloads in a hybrid deployment, from modern containerized applications with Anthos to VM-based applications.

New updates will offer support for full VMware stack, including the likes of vCenter, vSAN, and NSX-T. Now VMware workloads will be migrated to a VMware SDDC, running in GCP.

Customers have access to manage Google Cloud resources from within their VMware vRealize Automation environments.

Partnership with VMware on the technical aspects are more about CloudSimple than VMware and looking to have a long and close relationship with VMware. Legal service agreements will support Customers' business-critical applications.

Darchnik added that Google Cloud would be one providing the first line support, working with CloudSimple, and the solution will be available for customers in this later year on the Google Cloud Marketplace.
